Faith Communities and the Challenge of Climate Change

Faith Communities and the Challenge of Climate Change is a project that has been initiated by, and will be managed and co-ordinated by, Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC). Set up in 2007, Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) is a registered charity (number 1126993), a coalition of citizens and organizations aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of Winchester district by one-third in the 99 months between October 2007 and December 2015. WinACC works closely with the local authorities, the University of Winchester, and the Winchester District Strategic Partnership (WDSP). The project aims to develop, organise, and evaluate a systematic programme of education, training, networking, and advice to enable members of faith communities to play a more prominent part in significantly reducing the carbon footprint of Winchester district which has a population of 110,000 spread across the City of Winchester and a large rural area.
